Ferguson Township Police establish cold case team to review Shadle disappearance

Date: May 18, 2018

Ferguson Township Police will establish a cold case team to review the department’s open, unsolved major cases, including the disappearance of Jennifer Cahill Shadle.

The team will reexamine the Shadle case, interview new and original witnesses, analyze evidence using new technology, and check for missed information. Essentially, the team will look at the case as though it’s new.

In its previous work on the case, the FTPD consulted with the Centre County District Attorney’s office andthe Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The department also entered Shadle’s name, DNA, dental records, fingerprints and case information in numerous national missing persons databases, including the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), Combined DNA Index System (CODIS), and Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP).

The FTPD’s new investigative team will continue to work with the Centre County D.A’s office, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and other entities to pursue answers about her disappearance and help bring closure to her family.

Ferguson Township Police are asking anyone who knows Shadle, or has any information about her disappearance, to contact the department. You may have a piece of information that becomes the tipping point police need to solve her case. No matter how small the information appears to be, if you know her or knew her, please contact the FTPD at (800) 479-0050 or email police@twp.ferguson.pa.us
