Immediate opening for Assistant to the Manager

Ferguson Township has an immediate opening for an Assistant to the Manager. This position reports directly to the Township Manager and is responsible for the management of special projects as assigned by the Manager, as well as assisting in the oversight and operation of the Township’s departments. These include Administration, Finance, Public Works, Planning & Zoning, and Police. Special focus areas of this position include community engagement and information technology. The position is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate with a Master of Public Administration degree who is interested in a career in local government.

Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration and at least two years of experience in local government. A Master of Public Administration Degree may be substituted for experience. A valid Driver’s License is required. Starting salary is $56,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Township offers a competitive benefits package.

Ferguson Township has an annual budget of approximately $22 million across all funds including fiduciary and trust funds, with a General Fund Budget of $12.3 million in 2018.
