FTPD arrest two on burglary and other charges

Date: November 27, 2017

The Ferguson Township Police Department (FTPD) arrested 20-year-old Yassine Bricha and 20-year-old Kenneth Chan at approximately 12:53 am on Nov 25 in the Park at State College student complex.

Police officers responded to a report from a resident who advised that two males had just entered her apartment. Officers from Ferguson and Patton Townships arrived and set up a perimeter to look for the males. Both males ran when they observed officers and were apprehended quickly without incident by pursuing officers. It was determined the males had entered at least five other apartments in an effort to take alcohol and had taken at least seven bottles of liquor. They entered through an open front door or by removing window screens and entering through a window.

Bricha and Chan were charged with Burglary, Trespass, Receiving Stolen Property, Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of Alcohol under the age of 21.

Magisterial District Judge Carmine Prestia set bail for Bricha and Chan at $25,000 each. Both were taken to the Centre County Correctional Facility.

Residents are reminded to secure all windows and doors to help discourage criminal behavior.
