The newest draft of Ferguson Township's Official Map

Date: August 8, 2017

A Public Hearing is scheduled for the Board of Supervisors' Regular Meeting on Monday, October 2 to
consider adoption of the Township's new Official Map .At its Regular Meeting on September 18, the Board
voted to add a 1,600-foot section of bike path in Pine Grove Mills. A Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday,
October 2 to consider adoption of the Township's new Official Map.

At its Regular Meeting on July 3, during a public hearing to discuss the proposed new Official Map, the Board had observed that the Foxpointe Road extension was outside of the Regional Growth Boundary and wanted clarification from staff as to why that road was there. Supervisors did not approve the Official Map that evening.

When staff researched the road's placement, records showed that this section of Foxpointe Drive has been on the March 2002 and May 2008 versions of the Official Map.  This road was included in a Township-wide traffic study prepared by the Township’s traffic engineer in the early 1990s.

Originally created in 1990, the Official Map identifies priority areas for future growth — land where the Township may want to develop parks, streets, roads and natural area conservation. The updated map is in “draft” form until adopted by the Township Board of Supervisors.
