American Legion Post No. 245 has donated eight medical backpacks to the Ferguson Township Police Department (FTPD) — one for each of the Department's patrol vehicles.

Ferguson Township Police Sergeant Devon Moran accepted the donation from Commander Richard Seifert and other members of Post 245, located at 1950 Pine Hall Road in the Township.

Commander Seifert said the post wanted to make a donation to the FTPD, and he asked Chief of Police Diane Conrad what the Department could use the most. She told him that medical bags would be the most helpful gift.

Sergeant Moran welcomed the donation, noting that over the last five years, the FTPD has responded to more than 3,100 EMS assist calls. "We use our medical bags practically every day, often more than once," he said. "These new backpacks will be more efficient and practical.  We can now put the EMS bag on our backs and for the most part keep our hands free when arriving at any call."

The FTPD thanks American Legion Post 245 for this lifesaving donation.
