Ferguson Township recognizes the right of people to live with dignity regardless of immigration status

Ferguson Township welcomes all people and recognizes the rights of individuals to live their lives
with dignity, free of discrimination because of their faith, race, sexual orientation, gender identity,
national origin, or immigration status.

At its Regular Meeting on December 5, 2016, the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors passed
a resolution affirming the Township's commitment to equity and inclusion. The vote was unanimous.

The resolution affirms that the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors believes in and stand for values of inclusion,equity, and justice. In addition, the Supervisors:

  • condemn religious intolerance of any kind, racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia in rhetoric or action, 
  • recognize that the Constitution of the United States provides people with right and equal protection under the law, 
  • will continue our work in making our services and programs accessible and open to all individuals, and
  • believe in the public sector for the public good and that advancing equity and inclusion is critical to the success of our communities and nation.

Therefore, the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors resolves to work to guarantee equal treatment of and respect for all persons and urges all citizens to do likewise.
