Strategic Plan Work Session

Date: September 10, 2016
Time: 8:30 AM

The Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors will hold a work session Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the Main Meeting Room at the Ferguson Township Municipal Building. The session will begin at 8:30 am with a public comment session.

Ferguson Township staff want to thank the residents who joined us for a series of community meetings to provide their thoughts and opinions on the Strategic Plan update. The Township hosted one event in each ward over the last two weeks, and conversation focused on seven questions designed to determine what direction residents wanted the Township to pursue over the life of the Strategic Plan. Peter Marshall of Peter S. Marshall & Associates, LLC facilitated the sessions.

While there were some diverse opinions presented at the meetings, several common themes emerged. Overall, attendees want to see the preservation of natural, environmental features; planned, sustainable growth; an increase in the affordable housing stock; and a focus on sustainable and economically viable agriculture.

Information gathered from these community meetings and from the informal online survey that 66 residents completed in July will provide crucial data used to update the Township's Strategic Plan.
