Semi-Annual Curbside Bulk Waste Collection, May 16 - 20, 2016

Ferguson Township residents who receive trash collection services through the municipal contract
with Advanced Disposal are advised that the Spring Bulk Waste Collection is scheduled for the week of May 16 – 20, 2016.
Remember to place all items at the curb by 7 am on your regular collection day.

White Goods, Tires, TVs and Computers will be collected and recycled

Customers may place large, bulky items at the curb on your regular trash pick-up day during this special collection week. Items accepted include furniture, mattresses and box springs, old appliances (limit one of each appliance type per residence), carpeting (dry, cut, and tied), and tires (limit 10 car tires not exceeding 20 inches inside, rims removed).

Loose piles will not be collected.

Detailed Collection Guidelines:

YES — The following items will be collected: furniture, bedding, electronics, appliances, tires, bundled old lumber/homeowner-generated small project construction materials, carpeting, other oversized items too large to containerize.  See Bulk Waste Guidelines (below) for information about item preparation.

NO — The following items will NOT be collected: contractor-generated construction materials, leaves, grass, soil/dirt, concrete, bricks, stones, railroad ties, propane tanks, liquid paints and solvents, batteries, dead animals, unprepared glass panes, unbundled wood, piles of loose debris or construction materials, tires other than passenger car tires (racing, tractor, etc.), items too large or too heavy for two workers to lift, items not prepared as per the above guidelines.  For alternative disposal options, please call (814) 238-7005.

Bulk Waste Collection Details and Guidelines

If May 16 - 20 will not work for you, the following options are available:

1. Small bulk items may be placed curbside on a regular trash day if: a) the item weighs less than 40 lbs, b) one person can lift the item, c) the item will not damage the truck and d) you include no more than 3 items per week
2. Call Advanced Disposal at (814) 237-3713 for a special pickup and pay the charge
3. Deliver the bulk item to the Centre County Recycling & Refuse Authority at (814) 238-7005 and pay the disposal fee (minimum $15)
4. Wait until the next bulk waste collection, scheduled for October 10 – 14, 2016
