Penn State’s Ag Progress Days took place August 15 - 17 on 150 acres at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center in Rock Springs. Billed as Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor agricultural expo, it's the show for everyone who cares about Pennsylvania agriculture: the farmers, the consumers and taxpayers who benefit, and the children whose future depends on it. As many as 45,000 people from all four corners of the state and beyond attended to see what Pennsylvania agriculture is all about.

Sponsored by Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences, the annual event featured exhibitors from all over the United States as well as parts of Canada, and also showcases the college’s pioneering research.

There was plenty for children to see and do as well — friendly bugs and farm animals, a kid-safe tree climb using safety ropes and harnesses, assisted by certified arborists, and a corn maze. The maze presented questions to which only the right answers led people out.

Food was served by non-profit groups that included the Ferguson Township Lions Club and Fairbrook United Methodist Church.
