Date: August 16, 2018

Penn State’s Ag Progress Days took place August 14 - 16 on 150 acres at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center in Rock Springs. Billed as Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor agricultural expo, it's the show for everyone who cares about Pennsylvania agriculture: the farmers, the consumers and taxpayers who benefit, and the children whose future depends on it. As many as 45,000 people from all four corners of the state and beyond attended to see what Pennsylvania agriculture is all about.

Sponsored by Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences, the annual event featured exhibitors from all over the United States as well as parts of Canada, and also showcased the college’s pioneering research.

Pa. Gov. Tom Wolf, U.S. Senator Bob Casey, Jr., and Penn State University President Eric Barron were among those who attended and addressed the crowd on Wednesday.

There was plenty for children to see and do as well — especially the kid-safe tree climb assisted by certified arborists and using safety ropes and harnesses.
