Winter Weather Reminders

Be prepared for winter weather.

Ferguson Township will email a press release whenever on-street parking is prohibited and clearing sidewalks is required. Sign up for Winter Weather Reminder e-mail notifications.

Residents and visitors are required to remove your vehicles from the street after two or more inches of snow has fallen. This allows our snow plows to operate safely and effectively.

Sidewalk Maintenance Requirements

Please clear sidewalks of snow and ice within 24 hours after a snowfall of two or more inches has ended.

In most cases, it is the responsibility of the property owner to maintain sidewalks along his or her property. This is in accordance with §21-207 of the Township Code of Ordinances. The full width of any sidewalk adjoining your property must be cleared of snow or ice within 24 hours after the snow or precipitation has occurred. The Board of Supervisors adopts a Sidewalk Snow Removal Map each year to illustrate the sidewalks that must be maintained. The blue areas show which sidewalks are exempt. View the 2015-16 Sidewalk Snow Removal Policy Map.

Staying Active During the Winter Months

Bicyclists, runners and walkers can remain active on our seven shared use paths during the winter months, thanks to snow clearing by our Public Works Department road crews. View more information about Shared Use Path Winter Maintenance.
