Planning Commission

About Us

The Ferguson Township Planning Commission is an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors. It consists of seven members, each appointed by the Board for a four-year term. The Commission works closely with the Director of Planning and Zoning, Zoning Administrator, and Township Engineer.

Meeting Information

The Planning Commission meets twice a month, year round. Meetings are usually held at 6:00 PM on the second and fourth Monday of the month.

Responsibilities

The Commission considers planning issues such as rezoning requests, transportation, environmental impacts, water, and sewage issues for proposed plans. This body also reviews all land development and subdivision plans submitted to the Township and forwards an advisory opinion to the Board of Supervisors. Reviews are performed to determine compliance with Township Subdivision and Land Development Ordinances (SALDO), Zoning Ordinances, and State Statutes. The Commission may perform additional duties, as needed, such as provide comment on a proposed modification to a Township zoning ordinance, SALDO, or other regulation that may have an impact on Township planning issues.
