Community Outreach and Education

Our Township Arborist, Lance King, plays an essential community role in promoting the health of our

Township street and park trees.  As such, he organizes educational events for Arbor Day.

The Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors proclaimed April 28, 2018 as Arbor Day in Ferguson Township.

Ferguson Township celebrated with a group of Ferguson Township Elementary students and other community partners with a tree planting at "Owens Drive Park," currently in development. Board of Supervisors President Peter Buckland read the Township's Arbor Day Proclamation. The event was also notable for Ferguson Township being named a Tree City USA the second consecutive year by the Arbor Day Foundation. Representatives of the Pa. Department of Conservation and Natural Resources presented the honor.
